Kids 4 Kids Publishing

Thanks to everyone who attended the session on Kids 4 Kids Publishing at the 2008 ARC. I have established a blog at http://kids4kidspublishing.blogspot.com/ This will give you a bit of an idea of what all took place with this first year of Kids 4 Kids Publishing.

As we move into the second year, there are certainly some things we will improve!

Building Trust in the PYP School

I want to thank all of you who participated in this session. I particularly appreciated the discussion about dealing with the difficulties leaders can face with people's resistance to change. Another interesting idea brought out was the interplay between respect and trust and how those attitudes influence the school's success.

From the Cayman Islands to the IBNA conference

The conference was excellent this year and the Cayman Islands' contingent of Clive Baker, Tammy Da Costa, Kiva Powell and me, Helena McVeigh, thoroughly enjoyed meeting old and new friends and learning more about the IB. It was Tammy's first IBNA annual conference and she was really fired up by it.

Holistic Learner -Learner Profile

Student-led conferences are designed to allow students to communicate their understanding with their parents/guardians. The student must be knowledgeable about their assignments and how they connect to real-life. The student must be able to convey what IB is about, including the Areas of Interaction, the Learner Profile and the programme as a whole.

Orchestra and the Middle Years Program

Essential Questions reviewed at the conference for Orchestra class.

1. How can a musical performance facilitate intercultural communication?

2. To what extent is familiarity useful in learning?

3. What can playing Chamber Music teach us about life?

Does anyone have comments, questions, or suggestions?
